Why Are CasaÔ's Rooms Named This Way?

The rooms at CasaÔ are named after some of the most iconic streets and landmarks in the neighbourhood. Each one reflects a piece of Parisian history and invites you to discover the city's rich heritage. Following Montorgueil, Vivienne and Verdeau, here are four more names that celebrate the unique character of the district surrounding CasaÔ.

Choiseul

The Choiseul Room takes its name from Passage Choiseul, the longest covered passage in Paris, stretching almost 190 metres. Opened in the 19th century, it connects Rue des Petits-Champs to Rue Saint-Augustin and is home to a variety of boutiques, cafés and restaurants. Its elegant glass roof fills the passage with natural light, making it one of the city's most charming hidden walks.

Réaumur

Located just outside CasaÔ, Rue Réaumur is one of the main streets of Paris' 2nd arrondissement. Created in the late 19th century, it is renowned for its remarkable Art Nouveau and Art Deco buildings, which reflect the city's economic and architectural development. Walking along Rue Réaumur is like taking a journey through Parisian architectural history.

Colbert

The Colbert Room pays tribute to Jean-Baptiste Colbert, the famous minister of King Louis XIV. His legacy lives on in the nearby Galerie Colbert, a magnificent 19th-century covered gallery known for its impressive rotunda and elegant architecture. Today, it houses research institutions dedicated to art history while remaining open to visitors.

Petits Carreaux

Just a short walk from CasaÔ, Rue des Petits Carreaux is one of the oldest streets in the Montorgueil district. Once bustling with craftsmen and merchants, it has retained its lively atmosphere through its independent shops, cafés and restaurants. It remains one of the best places to experience the authentic, everyday life of Paris.

At CasaÔ, every room is an invitation to discover the neighbourhood from a different perspective. By naming our rooms after the streets, passages and landmarks that surround us, we hope to extend your Parisian experience beyond sightseeing and into your stay itself.
